Southwind Homes has been involved in residential construction for over 30 years. It all started in Parksville, and we have built homes all over central Vancouver Island. Secluded hideaways, luxury villas, planned neighbourhoods… we've done those and everything in between. Now settled in the Comox Valley, we are focused on creating another new neighbourhood that will become a hidden jewel of its own.

The Leader

The man at the helm of Southwind Homes has always had unparalleled vision. President Rick Bernes is able to draw on decades of experience and an uncanny design instinct to conceive and create premium-quality projects. His wife (and design partner) Diane is always there to keep him on the straight and narrow. When the opportunity has presented itself, the couple has always been proud to reside in the very neighbourhoods they've built.

The Team

Like all Southwind developments, River's Edge is designed, developed and built by the same close-knit team throughout the construction process. We won't trust our quality to just anyone; we've found that if you want it done right, you should do it yourself. This means that the same Southwind crew that breaks ground on your home will end up being responsible for it finishing touches. The same foreman is there in the end that was there in the beginning. It's our way of ensuring that the quality you see in any Southwind home is there in every single Southwind home.

The Vision

Just as with our previous projects, River's Edge has been designed as a unique neighbourhood, where each home's design suits it's lot and each home complements the others on its street. Customer Service and Satisfaction

You'll be dealing with Sherry Pilkington, Southwind's highly-skilled Customer Service specialist, from beginning to end. She will help you choose your options, where applicable, and will walk you through the process from the day you make your first inquiry to the day you settle in. This includes your final inspection, where we make sure that no detail has been overlooked so that you can move right in and enjoy your home with its Ten Year New Home Warranty.
